Turbine Generator of HPP Luch of “Quadra – Power Generation’s” Belgorod Branch Is Put into Operation after Overhaul
Upon the completion of the overhaul, the turbine generator made by Brush, which is installed at gas turbine unit No. 2 of HPP (heat power plant) Luch of “Belgorod Generation” – the branch of PJSC “Quadra – Power Generation” has been put into operation successfully. The equipment has passed comprehensive tests and now is under the nominal load of 30 MW. The cost of the works was RUB 48 m.
The repairs were performed at the plant Sevkavelektroremont in Rostov-on-Don, where the specialists fully replaced the English winding of the stator of the generator by the winding made of Russian materials. In total, 84 coils were installed in the stator slots and were covered with monolithic insulation after that – the technology similar to that of the manufacturing plant Brush. Besides, the equipment received domestic sensors of the instrumentation and control system.
“This was the first time when we repaired such sophisticated foreign-made power equipment at the domestic enterprise. It’s important to stress that the additional alterations made by the specialists of the plant in the design of the stator of the generator materially improved the rigidity of the winding fixation. As a result, the reliability of the generator in the event of emerging overloads following external short circuits in electrical networks grew,” noted Viktor Gorlov, chief engineer of the branch.
HPP Luch was commissioned in 2005. The installed electrical capacity is 60 MW; installed thermal capacity is 60 Gcal/h. Together with the boiler house Yuzhnaya, the plant supplies heat and hot water to the consumers of Kharkovskaya Gora in Belgorod.
