PJSC “Quadra – Power Generation” has ensured readiness of the new 115 MW power unit at the Alexin HPP (built under capacity supply agreements) to supply voltage from the operating part of the plant for own needs. The clearance for operation in respect of the power unit was obtained by the company from Rostekhnadzor (Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia).
“The new power unit of the Alexin HPP is ready for final startup and commissioning operations. We are switching the electrical equipment of GSU (gas steam unit) to the main power feeding scheme and starting the trial launch of the power unit,” Deputy General Director for capital construction of PJSC “Quadra – Power Generation” Denis Ulanov said.
The main power feeding scheme is constant for the power unit. It allows to engage electric motors, auxiliary machinery and starting engines simultaneously. Thus, the process of putting 115 MW GSU of the Alexin HPP into operation is nearing completion.
The project of construction of GSU-115 MW is included in the investment program of PJSC “Quadra – Power Generation” and is implemented under capacity supply agreements (CSAs). After completion of the project, the installed electrical capacity of the Alexin HPP will increase by 115 MW to 177 MW, the installed heat capacity will increase by 90 Gcal/h to 240 Gcal/h. Thanks to the commissioning of GSU-115 MW, the Alexin HPP will produce nearby 890 million kWh of electricity a year.
